The 211th Oaks Stakes took place on Saturday 10th June 1989 and was won by Snow Bride (13/2), by Blushing Groom out of Awaasif trained by Henry Cecil, who won by 3 lengths in 2 mins 34.22 secs. The winner won £108,450 (Equivalent to £266,800 in 2017) and there were 9 runners. Aliysa was the 3 length winner from Snow Bride, with Roseate Tern just a short head back in third. However, Aliysa was later disqualified after testing for a prohibitive substance.
